Available for purchase in the MAG Store: frame your passion for Queen with this fine art print of Freddie Mercury on stage at St James’s Park (Newcastle) in 1986. A shot by Denis O’Regan.
Denis O’Regan is an English photographer whose imagery is particularly associated with the punk movement, Queen, David Bowie, and Duran Duran. O’Regan has photographed everyone from AC/DC to ZZ Top, documenting Punk, New Romanticism, Grunge, and Heavy Metal along the way. This particular shot, frames Queen’s singer Freddie Mercury striking a classic stage pose during a memorable 1986 performance:
A favourite pose from Freddie, at 52,000 capacity St James’s Park stadium in Newcastle, the eight largest football stadium in the UK. I often prefer to shoot from the stage in order to give the photographs context, and the audience is a large part of any performance.
